HuskiesHelpingOthers A Project of Bloomsburg University Foundation, Inc.

Calling all Huskies . . . and the entire Bloomsburg Community

Originally created to help the victims of Tropical Storm Harvey in Southeast Texas, this project has been expanded to help the communities of Florida and Puerto Rico which were impacted by Hurricanes Irma and Maria. As a community which has also been affected by devastating floods, Bloomsburg University students encourage all members of the BU and Bloomsburg communities to make a donation to help with relief efforts in areas impacted by devastated by these natural disasters.

The $2,480 raised in September is already on it's way to the Houston Food Bank to help with the immediate need of feeding those in need. Please help us by making a donation today. Any amount will help. Funds collected by the Community Government Association (student government) office will be sent to verified relief efforts such as food banks and the Red Cross.


You can also drop off the following items at supply drop-offs located in residence hall lobbies and Dean of Students' office (Kehr Union 101):

  • Clothing
  • New Blankets
  • Cleaning Supplies
  • Liquid laundry detergent
  • Cleaning wipes/handi-wipes
  • Dust masks
  • Kitchen dishwashing gloves
  • Scouring pads (No stainless steel, Brillo Pads, or SOS)
  • Heavy-duty trash bags (25-33 gallon)
  • 5 gallon bucket with lid (available at Lowe's/Home Depot)

Items received will benefit victims of the recent hurricanes in Houston, Florida and Puerto Rico.
